Administration reserves the right to request a change of clothing for inappropriate dress or to recommend changes on anything deemed distracting to the learning process.

Lake Alfred Polytech Academy General Uniform/Dress Code Policy

For the 2022 – 2023 school year uniform shirts must be purchased from the school’s uniform store with the school logo. 

Uniforms are required every day.

Students are expected adhere to the school uniform policy every day. If a student is not in dress code, a parent will be called to bring proper clothing. No fraying, holes, or tears should appear on any uniform garments or clothing worn on Student Dress Down days. Hats and bandanas are not allowed to be worn on campus or at school functions at any time.

Jackets/Sweaters

The school’s dress code does not prohibit students from wearing a coat, jacket, sweater, or other appropriate outer garment if it meets regular dress code rules, including: Outer garments must be either solid burgundy, hunter green, or navy-blue in color

  • Outer garments must have a full zipper or button-down front and remain unzipped/unbuttoned at all times unless the temperature is below 50°
  • Trench coats are not allowed
  • Zippered hooded sweatshirts are allowed, but hoods may not be worn during school hours
  • Outerwear may not be disruptive, distracting, display offensive language/symbols, etc.
  • School staff may ask students to remove jackets 
  • All outerwear must be worn over the uniform shirt.

Uniform Shirts

Uniform shirts must be purchased from the school’s uniform store and must have the school logo.

  • Students have a choice to wear either burgundy, hunter green, or navy-blue shirts.
  • Shirts must be tucked in at all times and the belt visible
  • Non-uniform shirts are not to be worn as jackets
  • A long-sleeved shirt matching the color of the student’s uniform shirt may be worn under the student’s uniform shirt on days where the temperature is below 50°
  • Undershirts may be worn, but must be white and the sleeves of the crew necked undershirt may not be longer than the sleeves of the uniform shirt

Uniform Bottoms

  • Regular khaki (not brown) uniform bottoms
  • No jean material
  • No decorated stitching
  • No drawstring waist
  • No elastic at ankles
  • No leggings material
  • No rips, tears, or holes
  • Fits appropriately, not baggy, or too tight
  • Skirts, shorts and skorts must be mid-thigh or longer
  • A belt must be worn with all uniform bottoms that have belt loops
  • Pants are to be worn at the waist at all times
  • If the weather is 50° or below at 7:00am on the school’s website and the temperature is not expected to be above 60° for the day, students are permitted to wear jeans. Jeans must not have any fraying, holes, or tears. A belt must be worn with jeans that have belt loops.

Shoes

Both boys and girls must wear tennis shoes, loafers, deck shoes, or tie shoes.

Shoes must be tied/fastened tight at all times.

For student safety, Crocs, flip-flops, slides, and other open toe or open heel shoes and shoes with heels greater than 1 inch are not permitted to be worn on campus at any time, including Student Dress Down Days.

Student Dress Down Days

  • No fraying, holes, or tears should appear on any garments or clothing worn on student dress down days.
  • Hats or bandanas are not allowed to be worn at any time

  • No tank tops
  • No shirts that show the mid-drift
  • No Leggings, PJs, spandex, or yoga pants allowed
  • Skirts, shorts, or skorts must be mid-thigh or longer and fit appropriately – not baggy or too tight
  • A belt must be worn with all bottoms that have belt loops
  • Pants are to be worn at the waist at all times

Trapper Keepers

Students may carry a Trapper Keeper instead of a backpack. Backpacks of any size; including mini backpacks used as purses, are not permitted on campus.

ID Badges

Upon initial enrollment in the school students will be provided with an ID Badge free of charge. Students must wear their school-issued ID Badge at all times while on the school campus or at a school function. If a student’s ID Badge is lost or damaged, the student must purchase a replacement ID Badge from the school for $5.00.

Grades 6-8

  • Trapper Keeper – Backpacks are not permitted on campus
  • Cloth face covering (optional)
  • Personal hand sanitizer (optional)
  • 1 pack of black dry erase markers (2 count)
  • 1 pack of colored pencils
  • 1 packs of #2 pencils (10 or more count)
  • 2 packs of notebook paper
  • 1 pack of graph paper, loose leaf with holes
  • 1 pack of yellow highlighters (2 count)
  • 1 pack of blue ink pens
  • 1 pack of black ink pens
  • Dividers (8-10 count)
  • Pencil holder for binder with 3 holes
  • Ruler for binder with 3 holes
